Many artists’ children turn out just fine, and grow up to edit their parents’ work and live off the royalties. But some do not - for example, James Joyce’s two children. His son became an alcoholic; his daughter went mad. Carol Loeb Shloss, a Joyce scholar who teaches at Stanford, has just written a book about the latter: " Lucia Joyce: To Dance in the Wake"
